Sarah Toney is the Owner of the Toney Law Firm, LLC. She has concentrated in the areas of Criminal and DUI Defense since she was admitted to the bar. In addition, she has been an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law for 10 years where she currently teaches Legal Writing and has taught an Advanced Writing for Criminal Law class. She attended Miami University where she received a B.S. in Education and Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she received her J.D. Ms. Toney was named Young Lawyer of the Year in 2014 by the Illinois State Bar Association. For 2016 and 2015 she was named an Illinois SuperLawyer and she has previously been named an Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star for the past 5 years. She served as Chair of the Traffic Laws and Courts Section Council for ISBA in 2013, which she has been appointed to since 2008. She was elected to the Assembly in 2013 and confirmed as a member of the ISBA LAWPAC in 2012 and 2015. She is currently Vice Chair of the Law Office Management & Economics Committee. She has been Editor of the Traffic Laws and Courts Newsletter for the past eight years. She currently also serves on the Marketing and Communications Committee. Ms. Toney has been invited to speak by the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Illinois State Bar Association and DUIDLA at various seminars. She sits on the Member Events Committee and the Health Benefits and Wellness Committee of the Union League Club. She previously served on the Athletic Committee. She is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, General Federal Bar, United States District Court, Central District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit.
