Biography
Mr. Bly has been recognized by his peers for excellence in the criminal and DWI field and is highly rated by his clients. Mr. Bly was recently selected as Rising Star in DUI/DWI/OUI defense by New England Super Lawyers Magazine. Mr. Bly is one of only 2 attorneys selected in 2012 for the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
In addition, Mr. Bly has written an e-book titled "The DWI Survival Guide: Demystifying the Process" and has co-authored a national publication through Aspatore Press titled "Inside the Minds: Handling DUI Vehicular Homicides."
Mr. Bly is admitted to practice in front of all New Hampshire and Maine State courts, including the Maine and New Hampshire Supreme Courts and the United States District Court – District of Maine and the United States District Court – District of New Jersey as a non-practicing member.
Mr. Bly is a member of the New Hampshire State Bar Association, the Maine State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Criminal Association Defense Lawyers, the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Trial Lawyers Association, Maine Association of Trial Lawyers, the National College of DUI Defense and the York County (Maine) Bar Association.
Mr. Bly is a veteran of the United States Army and completed tours of duty in Ft. Benning, Georgia, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia during Operation Vigilant Warrior. He received his Honorable Discharge from the United States Army in 1997 and successfully completed an enlistment period from 1997–2004 in both the New Jersey and Maine National Guards. Mr. Bly spent nearly his entire career as a 19D Cavalry Scout and is proud to have served both his state and country in that capacity.
Mr. Bly is a passionate skier and you can often find him during the winter and spring months, mashing the bumps at Shawnee Peak, Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Wildcat Mountain or Attitash Mountain. During the summer months, Mr. Bly can be found fly fishing in the Rangeley and Moosehead regions for brook trout.
