While Rob represents clients in all courts throughout the state of Michigan, his practice is focused in all courts in western Michigan. Those counties include Ottawa, Oceana, Newaygo, Kent, Allegan, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Mason, Montcalm, Mecosta, Muskegon and Lake.

Rob was born and raised in Iowa. He started his legal career working in the Loss Prevention Department for several major department stores detecting shoplifting, employee theft and general store safety and security. He began his police service as a part-time police officer in Illinois and then moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where he continued as a full-time police officer. During his tenure, he was a patrolman, then assigned to the detective division, SWAT Unit and DWI taskforce. He was also assigned to the DEA/FBI drug task force and participated in several international drug smuggling investigations. He was the first officer in Arkansas to arrest a drunk driver under Arkansas' felony drunk driving law. Rob left the Department to attend law school where he met and married Melissa. After graduating, he and Melissa started their own law firm, GERMAN AND GERMAN, PLC. After 31 years of practicing together, they are still actively representing clients. Rob's practice is primarily limited to criminal defense and drunk driving defense. Over his 40 years of experience he was involved in literally hundreds of trials. He participated in all aspects of the court process from being a witness to representing clients. He has tried both bench trials before a judge and jury trials in both state and federal courts. In their spare time, Rob and Melissa enjoy spending time with family and friends, raising horses and spending time with each other. They operate a small horse breeding operation and show horses on the quarter horse circuit.
