The Wilson Law Firm is based in Manassas, Virginia, but clients from all across Virginia come seeking our assistance. We have helped clients all throughout Northern Virginia, as well as up and down the I-95, I-85 and I-81 corridors, across the I-66 and I-64 corridors, and all throughout Central Virginia along highways 360, 522, 15, 501, 29, 220 and 221. From Arlington in the northeast to Virginia Beach in the southeast, and from Winchester in the northwest to Bristol in the southwest, where ever it is, we have probably helped a client there before.

Biography

DUI / DWI and Criminal Defense Attorney T. Kevin Wilson has been representing good people in bad situations all across Virginia for 25 years. Kevin earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kentucky, and then his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the Syracuse University College of Law. He then settled in Virginia and throughout his career Kevin has continued to distinguish himself through his hard work, diligence and unwavering dedication to providing the best possible representation to his clients. His success, professionalism and integrity have earned the respect of police, prosecuting attorneys and judges alike. Kevin is nationally recognized for his expertise in the field of Virginia DUI / DWI and Criminal Defense and he regularly serves as a consultant on those matters. Kevin is not only trained on DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), he is an Instructor and he has taught lawyers from coast to coast. Kevin has also completed training on Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), as well as the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Program, Mastering Scientific Evidence in DUI Cases, Medical Defenses to DUI, Forensic Breath Alcohol Analysis and the use of Police Traffic RADAR and LIDAR. Kevin holds certificates in Forensic Chromatography: Theory & Practice, Forensic Analysis of Solid Drugs and Forensic Principles of DUID from Axion Labs and the American Chemical Society. As of 2018, he is one of only two lawyers in Virginia to have earned the prestigious designation of Forensic Lawyer-Scientist, as recognized by the American Chemical Society, Division of Chemistry and the Law. Kevin is trained as an Evidentiary Breath Alcohol Technician, and as an Operator of several breath alcohol testing machines, including the Intoxilyzer S-D2, Intoxilyzer S-D5, Intoxilyzer 400, Intoxilyzer 5000 and Intoxilyzer 8000 models. He has also completed training on the ECIR II, made by Intoximeters, Inc., the machine currently used in Virginia for breath alcohol testing. In addition to completing extensive coursework listed above, Kevin has gone even further and purchased several breath testing machines of his own, including an Intoxilyzer 5000 and an ECIR, and he has a mini-breath testing lab in his office. His latest acquisition is his very own gas chromatograph (GC), one of the machines used in forensic crime labs. In addition to building a successful law practice, and teaching Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Kevin is a police academy Legal Instructor, where he teaches Virginia Criminal Law, Virginia Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law and Evidence. Kevin also teaches a class on Virginia Gun Laws, addressing such topics as Concealed Carry, Brandishing, Use of Force, Self Defense, Defense of Others and Defense of Property. Kevin is a Founding Member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association, as well as a member of the member of the National College for DUI Defense, the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the American Chemical Society Division of Chemistry and the Law. Kevin is a member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar and has never been disciplined by the Virginia State Bar.

Litigation Experience

Mr. Wilson has successfully represented clients in all three trial courts in Virginia: Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, General District Court and Circuit Court. Mr. Wilson has also successfully represented a client in the Virginia Court of Appeals, getting a felony conviction reversed and the case dismissed.

Commonwealth v. Roberts - not guilty verdict on DUI (2nd offense in 18 months) with 0.24 breath test. Commonwealth v. Benedict - not guilty verdict on DUI with 0.24 blood test. Commonwealth v. Fisher - not guilty verdict on DUID with blood test showing 43 ng/dl THC Commonwealth v. Duleh - not guilty verdict on DUI with 0.11 breath test Commonwealth v. Gloff - Aggravated DUI with 0.15 breath test and Possession of Marijuana; both charges dismissed without a trial Commonwealth v. Engel - Felony DUI (3rd in 10 years) charge reduced to Reckless Driving Commonwealth v. Gates - Felony conviction (Possession of a Firearm by a Felon) reversed by the Virginia Court of Appeals and case dismissed. Commonwealth v. Humphrey - Attempted Murder charge dismissed before trial. Commonwealth v. McWilliams - Felony Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, 2 counts of Assault and Battery, Petit Larceny and Intoxicated in Public; all charges dismissed Commonwealth v. Pillow - Felony Attempted Malicious Wounding, Felony Destruction of Property and Reckless Driving; both felony charges dismissed, Reckless Driving reduced to non-criminal traffic infraction Commonwealth v.
