Dan Sabol is a prominent criminal defense attorney in Columbus, Ohio and partner at Sabol Mallory LLC. A graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law (J.D., 2006), Sabol has built a distinguished career focused on criminal defense and DUI/OVI cases. Sabol holds the distinction of being the first attorney in Ohio to be both board certified in criminal trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and designated as a "Lawyer Scientist" by the American Chemical Society. In 2017, he became the first private attorney in Ohio accepted into the National Forensics College, where he studied advanced forensic tactics including DNA analysis, digital forensics, ballistics, and false confessions. His expertise extends beyond traditional legal knowledge—he has completed extensive laboratory training in forensic science and drug testing, and is qualified as an instructor in standardized field sobriety testing. This specialized knowledge allows him to effectively challenge evidence and testimony in complex cases. Sabol's true passion lies in trial practice, where he has earned a reputation as a savvy and aggressive advocate. He regularly lectures on trial strategy throughout Ohio and nationally, with particular emphasis on cross-examination and closing arguments. He has presented at over 70 different seminars to lawyers, judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement officers. His commitment to criminal defense has earned him recognition from numerous organizations including Super Lawyers, US News Best Lawyers, and the National Trial Lawyers Association. He serves on the Board of both the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, demonstrating his leadership within the legal community. When not in court, Sabol enjoys spending time with his wife, stepdaughter, and twin boys. Originally from Solon, Ohio, he remains a devoted fan of Cleveland sports and Ohio State wrestling. The firm he co-founded with Chase Mallory in 2018, Sabol Mallory LLC, specializes in criminal defense throughout Ohio, with offices in Columbus.
