Biography
Bill McAdams is a former prosecutor who now manages McAdams Law Office, a successful criminal defense practice.
A native of Colorado, Bill grew up in Denver and Boulder. In 1994, he attended college at Baylor University in Waco, Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Political Science and History. He then attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, earning his Juris Doctorate law degree in 1999.
Bill began practicing law in the Denver area. Initially, he was an associate with the law firm of Ledbetter and Associates before becoming a solo practitioner. During this time, Bill handled a variety of matters, including criminal defense, DUI, family law, civil litigation, probate, and wills.
Bill then moved to Greeley to become a Deputy District Attorney for 2 ½ years before forming the McAdams Law Office in 2006. Since then, he has focused only on criminal defense, representing clients in a variety of court matters: DUI, DWAI, assault, domestic violence, theft, burglary, juvenile matters, minor in possession (MIP), sexual assault, forgery, fraud, drugs, alcohol, animal matters, driving under suspension (DUS), driving under revocation (DUR), speeding, reckless driving, and careless driving.
Bill also has significant experience in handling different DMV hearings, including DUI license suspensions, point suspensions, and red licenses, which permit limited driving privileges.
In his 19 years of experience, Bill has handled thousands of cases, including litigating more than 125 jury trials. Since 2009, Bill has either taught or participated in more than 350 hours of DUI trainings. Today, Bill also serves as Alternate Defense counsel in certain Weld County courts where he occasionally represents clients with whom the Public Defender has a conflict. In his private practice, Bill predominantly handles matters in Weld and Larimer counties and in the cities of Greeley, Evans, Windsor, Loveland, and Fort Collins.
As an active member of his community, Bill serves in numerous volunteer positions in his church, on his homeowner’s association board of directors, and on the Board of Governors for the University Schools in Greeley, Colorado. His hobbies include softball, volleyball, and travel.
